Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)⁠

As the engine is turned off, a visual warning in the instrument cluster reminds you to check the rear seats before exiting.⁠

Standard on all trims. 

When the vehicle is parked and the engine has been turned off, the Rear Occupant Alert can help to alert the driver if the rear door(s) have been opened at any point after the vehicle was unlocked at the beginning of the journey. Upon turning the engine off, Rear Occupant Alert will provide a visual alert on the instrument cluster. Rear Occupant Alert is not a substitute for driver attentiveness. 2019: Взрыв электромобиля

В конце июля 2019 года произошло внезапное возгорание Hyundai Kona у канадца Пьеро Косентино (Piero Cosentino). По словам автовладельца, электромобиль взорвался, хотя он не находился в процессе зарядки аккумуляторов и не был подключен к электросети.

Косентино приобрёл Hyundai Kona в марте 2018 года. Инцидент произошёл 26 июля 2019-го. Автомобилист собирался пообедать, как вдруг услышал взрыв, после чего сработала пожарная сигнализация. Густой черный дым шел от двери, ведущей в его гараж.

Электромобиль Hyundai взорвался и разрушил дом. Он не был на подзарядке

Автомобилист выбежал из дома, сразу позвонил пожарным и начал тушить огонь с помощью садового шланга. Крыша гаража, в котором находился электрокар, сгорела до тла, а его двери взрывной волной унесло на улицу. Часть дома оказалась разрушена из-за взрыва транспортного средства и пожара.

Как только я увидел облако дыма, я сразу же отключил электричество в доме, — рассказал Пьеро Косентино журналистам.

К счастью, во время возгорания Hyundai Kona никто не пострадал. Но, по словам Косентино, если бы кто-то находился возле гаража, то всё могло бы закончиться плачевно.

К 12 августа 2019 года продолжается расследование причин произошедшего. Оно проводится правоохранительными органами совместно с пожарными и компанией Hyundai Canada.

От электромобиля почти ничего не осталось, за исключением обгоревшего кузова. Как заявил руководитель пожарной службы, участвующей в тушении, Луи Дерозье, Hyundai Kona находилась в эпицентре возгорания, и кроме электрокара он не видит никаких других возможных причин взрыва. Но окончательный ответ на вопрос о причинах случившегося даст только расследование.

Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW)⁠

This standard feature gives you greater awareness of traffic around your vehicle by providing audible and visual alerts if a vehicle is detected in the driver’s blind spot.⁠

Standard on all trims.
Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) assists the driver by warning of other cars in the blind spot region. It senses the rear side territory of the vehicle when it is traveling over 20 mph. There are limitations to the function, range, detection and clarity of the system. It will not detect all vehicles or objects in the blind spot. Its operation depends on the size, distance, angle and relative speed difference between your car and other cars. BCW may not operate if sensors are obscured in any way. Do not rely exclusively on BCW. BCW is a supplemental system and the driver must still be attentive and exercise caution when driving. It is important to always signal, look over your shoulder and through your mirrors before changing lanes. It is the driver’s responsibility to be aware of the surroundings and ensure it is clear before changing lanes or directions. See Owner’s Manual for further details and limitations.

Отзыв 50 тыс. электромобилей из-за проблем с тормозами

В начале декабря 2020 года стало известно, что Hyundai отзывает 50 тыс. электромобилей из-за проблем с тормозами. Ее дочерняя компания Kia Motors также планирует отозвать 1895 электромобилей Soul из-за аналогичной неисправности.

Министерство транспорта Южной Кореи сообщило, что Hyundai Motor планирует отозвать в общей сложности 50 864 электромобилей Kona и автомобилей на топливных элементах Nexo, проданных в Корее, из-за неисправностей электронных тормозных систем. Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW)⁠

This standard feature helps you back out of a parking space or driveway by detecting traffic coming from either side of the rear of your vehicle and provides an audible warning.⁠

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW) helps drivers back out of a parking space by detecting traffic coming from either side of the vehicle. It can alert the driver of a potential hazard. RCCW is active when the vehicle is in reverse gear and operating at low speeds. Never rely exclusively on RCCW when exiting a parking space, it is not a substitute for attentive driving. Always look over your shoulder and use your mirrors to confirm rear clearance. There are limitations to the function, detection, range and clarity of the system. See Owner’s Manual for further details and limitations.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)⁠

Drift outside your lane without signaling and this standard system may apply corrective steering assistance to help keep your vehicle in its lane.⁠

Standard on all trims.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) will not work under all circumstances. It functions when it is able to detect painted lane markings. It cannot function if the lane markings cannot be seen clearly, if the lines are faded, or during dusk without headlights on, with snow, rain, sleet, dust, leaves or standing water on road, sudden changes in brightness such as shadows, tunnel exits/entrances, low sunlight angle causing reflections, multiple lane markings or criss-crossed lines, tar crack sealer and cracked or broken road surfaces. It also may not function on very rough roads, when walls, curbs or concrete barriers are close by, or if following another car too closely. Since it «sees» the lane markings using a camera in the upper windshield area, it is imperative this area be clear and free of blockage such as stickers, dirt, snow, tinting material, markings and labels. Avoid putting objects on the dashboard that may reflect light or images onto the system camera area. Lane Keeping Assist is not a substitute for safe driving practices, but is a supplemental assist only. The driver is responsible for always maintaining command and control of the vehicle and must keep hands on the wheel at all times. See Owner’s Manual for further details and limitations.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)⁠

Always on the lookout for potential collisions, this standard feature warns you when approaching a slowing or stopped vehicle, and brakes if necessary, to avoid impact.⁠

Standard on SEL and Limited trims.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) is intended to be a supplement to safe driving practices. The system is not designed to detect certain stationary objects such as trees or poles, and may not detect all vehicles under certain conditions. The system is a driver assistance system and is not a substitute for safe driving. The driver is responsible for being attentive and maintaining control of the vehicle, and should not wait for the system’s alerts before braking as there may not be sufficient time to brake safely. Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)⁠

2018: Анонс электрической версии

В конце февраля 2018 года компания Hyundai представила электрическую версию кроссовера Kona, публичная презентация которой пройдет на автосалоне в Женеве (8-18 марта).

Электрический кроссовер Hyundai Kona Electric сможет преодолеть 470 км

Модель Hyundai Kona Electric будет продаваться в двух версиях. Базовый вариант предполагает использование блока литий-полимерных аккумуляторов емкостью 39,2 киловатт-часов и электродвигателя мощностью 135 л. с. и с крутящим моментом 395 Н-м. В максимальном оснащении электрокар получит мотор на 204 л. с. и комплект батарей на 64 киловатт-часов. Максимальный запас хода у версий составит 300 и 470 км соответственно.

Hyundai Kona Electric может разгоняться с 0 до 100 км/ч за 7,6 секунды, а скорость движения ограничена 167 км/ч.

Интерьер электромобиля мало чем отличается от обычной версии Hyundai Kona с ДВС

Зарядка аккумуляторов от бытовой электросети занимает почти 10 часов в случае с топовой модификацией электромобиля. При использовании 100-киловаттного зарядного устройства запас заряда в батарее может увеличиваться с 0% до 80% меньше чем за час.

Помимо электрической силовой установки, Kona Electric отличается от обычной версии кроссовера с ДВС закрытой решеткой радиатора, измененными бамперами и фирменными 17-дюймовыми колесными дисками. Изменения в интерьере минимальные.

Hyundai Kona Electric получил функцию быстрой зарядки — 80% менее чем за час

В набор систем безопасности машины вошли адаптивный круиз-контроль с функцией полной остановки, система предотвращения фронтальных столкновений, способная определять пешеходов, а также функция мониторинга слепых зон и машин, двигающихся в поперечном направлении. Предусмотрена информационно-развлекательная система с 7-дюймовым сенсорным дисплеем и поддержкой мобильных интерфейсов Apple CarPlay и Android Auto.

Hyundai планирует начать продажи Kona Electric в первой половине 2018 года. Стоимость электромобиля не называется. Также неизвестно, будет ли он продаваться на российском рынке.
